Heya everyone! So sorry I haven't updated in a while. Firstly, I haven't have my laptop yet and secondly, there's nothing that I would like to write about cos its not interesting enough.

But you know what??? It doesn't matter. So far, I have enjoyed KL, even if I'm staying at downtrodden, crime-ridden Cheras. I'm surrounded by wonderful and friendly seniors and made some exciting new friends. =)

Wish I had a digi-cam so that I could post up all of their pictures. Lessons so far is quite tough, even though I've only had 2 lessons!!! =(

But its ok. I feel that I could survive this, and be stronger and rise above all the challenges set. Like what my English lecturer Mr Sukdev Singh told us "Is this course tough? Yes. But it is not impossible. With a little hard work, you too could receive this little piece of paper(certificate) after toiling for 2 years!".

All I could only think of is the amount of greens I'm set to earn after this and which Louis Vuitton bag to treat myself to after that!!!!

I WAS BURNED.

It happened yesterday, when I was unaware of it. Excited, giddy with the information I had, I proceeded to harmlessly "blackmail" someone whom I hold dear to my heart.

And I got snubbed for it.

I apologized. I was pissed. I couldn't handle it anymore...

I guess she just hates me.

But do you know the feeling, where when you make an effort to make a journey to someone else's place just to hope that you would get a glimpse of the ones you love, and to be snubbed instead???

I'm terribly, and irrevocably pissed off beyond relief.

I thought they loved me. I thought they needed me.

And I found out they needed me no more.

Goodbye, my Bountiful Rose. Bloom all you can and how long you could, and leave me here to rot in this Hellish Metropolis of brick and mortar, till my ashes are no more...

Hey! I found one of the stories I managed to write last time. Wrote it during Form 4/5 and had it published at my TAR College Magazine! Enjoy! =)

AFTERMATH

I looked into the mirror.My reflection stared back at me, and I hated it. A sad, miserable face with a bruise on my left cheek and a swollen eye looked back at me as fresh tears started to spring from my eyes. I cried. I couldn't take it anymore. Near my left hand was a kitchen knife which I had quietly taken to my room. Events that happened days ago kept flashing back unpleasantly into my memory...

I was not a popular girl at school. With short auburn hair and mystic blue eyes, I would have been considered beautiful, if not for the limp on my left leg. It was a car accident that my father and I were involved in that left my father dead. Miraculously, I was alive, but my leg was damaged badly and slightly mangled. To this day, I had to wear braces on my leg. I was never the same again.

I was always picked on by many people not only because of my deformity, but also because of my quiet and introvert self. I was regularly teased by the cheerleaders like Michelle, Penny, Jeanne and Sofia. Their taunts never worked on me anymore, maybe because of the stream of time that made me immune to it. Most people of jealous of them because they were beautiful, rich and popular. That really made me sick.

My mother only worked at a departmental store, because she never finished her education. No matter how sad, miserable and pathetic I felt, I tried my best to study hard to score a scholarship for college. However, it seemed more like I was going to let her down.

It was on Monday when it happened. I walked out of the cafeteria after finishing my lunch, while being jeered at by the Barbie Doll Plastics. I went back to class to take my textbooks as I had Chemistry for my next lesson. Then all of a sudden, Mike and his "entourage" appeared.

Mike was very well-known at my school. A delinquent with no brains and a big-time bully. What he lacked for academically, he made up for it in muscle and brawn. The last time I heard, the boy whom he picked on was injured so badly that he had to be taken to the hospital.

"Hey boys, look! It's the Prancing Scholar! Hey, hey! Where are you going? Let's have some fun!". With that. they took my books from my hands, threw them on the floor and started to push me back and forth among them. Afraid, and angry as well, I punched Mike in the face with all my might, but it was no good. Shocked at my reaction, the furious Mike threw me on the floor and kicked me in the ribs.

I realized I was outnumbered by his "entourage" as all of them started kicking me on the floor. As I was being kicked around, I knew I was as good as dead. After they were done, they wrestled $20 from my pocket and left. My books were not spared either. They were torn to pieces, including my important Biology notes. I never told a single soul about this incident.

Now, as I was looking at the beaten face in the mirror, I just realized how worthless I was. I had already prepared for my "farewell" journey, with letters to my mother and close friends. As I closed my eyes, I took the kitchen knife and plunged it into my stomach. It was so painful that I blacked out instantly.

The next thing I knew, I woke up to see a white ceiling looming over me. Strangely, I felt calm and inner peace with me. I felt happy, thinking that somehow my actions had led me to my final destination. "Am I in Heaven?" I thought. Apparently not, as the pain in my stomach tugged me back to reality.

As I turned to my left, even with blurred vision, I could make out the face of my mother. I could even make out that her eyes had been red and puffy from crying. With that, I felt a deep sense of regret. What I had done had hurt her more than the death of my father. This was the second time that I had tried to commit suicide.

With that, I let go of my emotions. I cried too. "Mom, I'm so sorry. I promise it will never happen again."

Note: This essay was written during my English tuition days, I had to finish the story ending with "I promise it will never happen again." Hope you guys enjoyed it! =)

KISS AND MAKE UP???? =(

Hey everyone! Just got back from KL n I'm damn tired! OK this is what went down when I was there... :

DAY 1
Started journey on Saturday night at 7, reached by 10smtg. Had makan at some hawker stalls there. Only in Kuala Lumpur you could eat ur food n Jehan Miskin is sitting just a few tables away... =)

Went to Duta Vista serviced apartments, where we're gonna stay until Monday.

DAY 2
Went for breakfast with my parents, auntie Karen n Jun Hao at a restaurant specializing in noodles. I also found out that morning that I dont think I'll like KL people that much, the majority of them being Cantonese and they're just loud and rude and would do anything or act in a way to put you down. The lady boss was rude in that she told off a customer in front of everyone n was shouting at her Indon workers all the time. So much for peace and relaxation...

After that loudness early in the morning, we headed for the Pavillon. And its as wonderful as always! =)

The decorations r beautiful, n the spaciousness n posh-like feel at that place never fail to put me into a good shopping mode. The 1st shop me n mum went into was Armani Exchange. The prices put me off n we ended up leaving empty-handed. I mean, who the hell buys a RM300 blouse and RM400 jeans??? =(

Next up was Tangs store. Every year at Tangs at every floor, there would be a jazz band spinning off Christmas tunes!!! And once again, clothes too expensive. Nice, beautiful, and would fit perfectly into my wardrobe, but still it would rip my pocket to shreds!

The shoes are also the same! The min price for shoes is RM200 and it could go up to RM800-1000 or more depending on brand and new arrivals. My head is spinning already...

Lunch was a welcome reprieve. Went to the food court where it has Italian, Nyonya, Western, Chinese delights! Yummm......

Over at Tangs I ended up just buying fancy wrapping paper n ribbon... *sweatdrop*

And if thats not enough, the parking ticket for 3 hours of "shopping" was not making us leave without paying RM12... The insanity...

After that, we went to 1 Utama later in the evening. karen auntie went off sumwhere n me n parents met up with my aunt. Dinner was at Coca n my KL uncle also dropped by. =)

OK, this is not my fault but I DID tell my mum to confirm with my cousins mum on whether I'm dropping by at your place or not. N my mum suddenly just decided to drop by...So if ur still angry, kill my mum plz Justina... =)

After that we went back to our place. I thought I would have another comfy sleep this time but the damn mosquitoes decided otherwise. They "kissed" my face 4 times!!!!! N I woke up a few times in the night as well... =(((((

DAY 3
Had coffee n some bread 1st b4 heading off to Cheras where we all visited my future campus. The principal is v nice n he explained everything to us. The only prob is accomodation n transportation cos a) I'm still left hanging on where I'm gonna stay and b) I have no car. The nearest hostel is 15-20 min away walking distance!!!

After that was settled, we headed off to Mid Valley Megamall where we endeavoured on another shopping trip... Sort of...

This time I got some doggie bones for Oakley (Karen auntie's dog. Cutie!)AND I managed to get JK Rowling's "Tales of Beedle the Bard". Cost me a bomb but I love it... =) Mum got Nike jogging shoes, more blouses n dad got golfing gloves.

Oh, n did I mention that my dad's GPS went nuts yesterday??? We ventured into another highway n it took us 1 hour to get back to town!!! =(

THE VATICAN'S GROTESQUE APPROACH TO HOMOSEXUALITY

It's not everyday that the Vatican is called "grotesque" by mainstream publications. But that's what one of Italy's largest newspapers, La Stampa, labeled the Vatican as the Pope's home tries to block a non-binding proposed UN resolution calling on governments worldwide to decriminalize homosexuality.

The Vatican issued a "slippery slope" argument for their opposition to this measure, saying that it could lead to same-sex marriages throughout the world. Apparently us gay folks are like nuclear weapons that way - you allow one country to have them, and then all of a sudden....

For the Vatican to oppose this measure is not only grotesque, it's the antithesis of Christ-like.

The measure simply calls on governments around the world to (1) stop throwing homosexuals in jail, or in extreme circumstances (2) stop executing them. The resolution has been signed by every country in the European Union, and France is due to submit the resolution to the UN on December 10 - the day that we'll mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

So instead of aligning themselves with the EU countries on this issue, the Vatican has chosen to line itself up with Iran, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Burundi, Afghanistan, and Sudan and the nearly EIGHTY other countries that punish homosexuality with significant jail time or death. Way to go, Vatican. I think we can also appreciate the Vatican's complete lack of tact in issuing their statement of opposition on World AIDS Day 2008. The criminalization of homosexuality is one of the biggest impediments in fighting HIV/AIDS around the world.

And, to top it all off, the Vatican's opposition to this measure comes on the heels of an effort started in October to weed homosexual priests and seminary students out of the Church. The new Catholic policy, released by the Vatican's Congregation for Catholic Education, reiterated that men with "deep-seated" homosexual tendencies were unworthy of ordination, and urged seminaries to enlist the aid of psychologists in screening candidates for homosexuality and other "psychic disturbances."

I think what's psychically disturbing is that a Church with a rich history of a Gospel rooted in social justice is throwing that out the window to focus on an issue that Jesus never once mentioned in the entire New Testament. Now that really is grotesque.

Whats with teenagers with their teen vampire romance, promise of undying love from a hot (oops sorry I meant cold) vampire dude with lots of money and having more strength than Hercules???

That kind of guy doesn't even exist anymore!!! (OK vampires never existed anyway so wat the Hell...)

I bought all four Twilight books and I find the book's content to be so immature, unsatisfying and with an unbelievable plot. Thats why I am selling off the books right now. And I'm not even going to bother with the movie.

My best fren watched it twice which I can't comprehend. My cousin is gonna watch the sequel even though she hated the movie! And fell asleep right in the middle of it!!! *sigh*

Why can't we have another author like Anne Rice? That woman is the one who made Lestat. It'll only take a miracle to find a writer like her...

GRAFTON, Wis. - A Grafton woman has been arrested and booked for failing to pay her library fines. Heidi Dalibor, 20, told the News Graphic in Cedarburg she ignored the library’s calls and letters as well as a notice to appear in court.

Still, she was surprised when officers with a warrant knocked on her door, cuffed her and took her to the police station to be fingerprinted and photographed.

Police Capt. Joe Gabrish saied officers follow the same procedure with every warrant.
Library director John Hanson said a couple of dozen people are cited each year for failure to return materials or pay fines.

The incident cost Dalibor about $30 for the overdue paperbacks “White Oleander” and “Angels and Demons” and her mother nearly $172 to get her out of custody.

Cancer survivors dismayed by blanket ban on yoga

PETALING JAYA: Many Muslim cancer survivors who practise yoga to promote general wellbeing are disappointed and confused over the National Fatwa Council’s edict on the ancient form of exercise.

National Cancer Society of Malaysia’s advisor Datuk Zuraidah Atan said she had been inundated with calls from the survivors who were confused and apprehensive over the edict or fatwa.

“An overreaching fatwa like this is not good for them as unnecessary worry can have a negative effect on them psychologically and physically. Some are already feeling guilty for practising it.
“There is a need for the Fatwa Council to explain their edict properly so that Muslims who practise yoga, including cancer survivors are not made to feel guilty,” she said.

Zuraidah said the council organised a weekly free yoga session for cancer survivors, especially those who were over 40 as a form of relaxation and breathing exercise.

“Besides yoga, we also have qi gong sessions. Is the Fatwa Council going to ban qi gong, too, because it has its origins in Buddhism? Then how about line dancing? We also organise that as a form of light exercise for cancer survivors,” she said.

She said yoga, qi gong and line dancing were good for cancer survivors because they were group dynamics which also helped promote positive thinking and unity among survivors of different race and religion.

She said there were many levels of yoga and only yoga in its purest form involved religious chanting.

“Most Muslims know this. The yoga that is being taught in yoga centres nationwide only concentrates on techniques and has nothing to do with the promotion of Hinduism,” she added.
The National Fatwa Council on Saturday declared that yoga is haram (prohibited) in Islam and Muslims are banned from practising it.

Chairman Datuk Dr Abdul Shukor Husin said yoga had been practised by the Hindu community for thousands of years and incorporated physical movements, religious elements together with chants and worshipping, with the aim of being one with God.

He noted that while merely doing the physical movements of yoga without the worshipping and chanting might not be against religious beliefs, Muslims should avoid practising it altogether as doing one part of yoga would lead to another.

Malaysian Islamic body bans yoga for Muslims

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia _ Malaysia's top Islamic body fresh from banning tomboys issued an edict Saturday that prohibits Muslims from practicing yoga, saying that elements of Hinduism in the ancient Indian exercise could corrupt them.

The National Fatwa Council's chairman, Abdul Shukor Husin, said many Muslims fail to understand that yoga's ultimate aim is to be one with a god of a different religion _ an explanation disputed by many practitioners who say yoga need not have a religious element.
"We are of the view that yoga, which originates from Hinduism, combines physical exercise, religious elements, chanting and worshipping for the purpose of achieving inner peace and ultimately to be one with god," Abdul Shukor said.

News of the yoga ban prompted activist Marina Mahathir to wonder what the council will ban next: "What next? Gyms? Most gyms have men and women together. Will that not be allowed any more?"

The edict reflects the growing influence of conservative Islam in Malaysia, a multiethnic country of 27 million people where the majority Muslim Malays lost seats in March elections and where minority ethnic Chinese and mostly Hindu ethnic Indians have been clamoring for more rights.
Recently, the council said girls who act like boys violate Islam's tenets. The government has also occasionally made similar conservative moves, banning the use of the word "Allah" by non-Muslims earlier this year, saying it would confuse Muslims.

Analysts say the fatwa could be the result of insecurity among Malay Muslims after their party _ in power since 1957 _ saw its parliamentary majority greatly reduced in elections because of gains by multiracial opposition parties.

Malay Muslims make up about two-thirds of the country's 27 million people. About 25 percent of the population is ethnic Chinese and 8 percent is ethnic Indian, most of whom are Hindu.
"They are making a stand. They are saying 'we will not give way,'" said Ooi Kee Beng, a fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore.

Decisions by Malaysia's Fatwa Council are not legally binding on the country's Muslims, however, unless they also become enshrined in national or Shariah laws. But many Muslims abide by the edicts out of deference, but some, like Putri Rahim, plan not to follow the latest fatwa.

"I am mad! Maybe they have it in mind that Islam is under threat. To come out with a fatwa is an insult to intelligent Muslims. It's an insult to my belief," said Putri, a Muslim who has practiced yoga for 10 years.

In recent years, yoga _ a collection of spiritual and physical practices, aimed at integrating mind, body and spirit _ has been increasingly practiced in gyms and dedicated yoga centers around the world.

There are no figures for how many Muslims practice yoga in Malaysia, but many yoga classes have Muslims attending.

In the United States, where it has become so popular that many public schools began offering it in gym classes, yoga has also come under fire.

Some Christian fundamentalists and even secular parents have argued that yoga's Hindu roots conflict with Christian teachings and that using it in school might violate the separation of church and state. Egypt's highest theological body also banned yoga for Muslims in 2004.
Yoga drew the attention of the Fatwa Council last month when an Islamic scholar said that it was un-Islamic.

A top yoga practitioner in India, Mani Chaitanya, said the Malaysian clerics seem to have "misunderstood the whole thing." Chanting during yoga is to calm the mind and "elevate our consciousness," said Chaitanya, the director of the Sivananda Ashram in New Delhi.
"It is not worship. It's not religious at all. Yoga is universal. All religions can practice yoga. You can practice yoga and still be a good Christian or a good Muslim," he said.

Malaysian yoga teacher Suleiha Merican, 56, who has been practicing yoga for 40 years, also denied there is any Hindu spiritual element to it. "It's a great health science that is scientifically proven and many countries have accepted it" as alternative therapy, said Merican, a Muslim.

Yoga forbidden for Muslims in Malaysia: official

Muslims in Malaysia should not practice yoga because it will erode their faith in Islam, a senior Islamic cleric said Saturday.

"Yoga is forbidden for Muslims. The practice will erode their faith in the religion," Abdul Shukor Husin, chairman of the government-backed National Fatwa Council, told reporters.

"We advice Muslims not to practice yoga. It does not conform with Islam," he said in response to a call to ban Muslims from doing yoga

Islam is the official religion of Malaysia, where more than 60 percent of the population of 27 million are Muslim Malays who practice a conservative brand of the religion.

Yoga, an ancient Indian aid to meditation dating back thousands of years, is a popular stress-buster in Kuala Lumpur.

Zakaria Stapa, a professor at the Islamic faculty of the National University of Malaysia, recently called on Muslims to stop doing yoga as it could cause them to "deviate from their faith".
Abdul Shukor said yoga involved physical and religious elements of Hinduism including the recitation of mantras.

He could not say how many Muslims were practising yoga but called on state authorities to punish those who do.

The fatwa council, one of Malaysia's highest Islamic bodies, recently banned women from dressing or behaving like men and engaging in lesbian sex, saying it was forbidden by the religion.

Hey ya'll!!! I'm so excited cos the plans for my going to Axismatics is going smoothly. I'm eligible to enter the course based on my SPM results and might be going down to Cheras to check out the place! But I have to hurry tho... The date ending for the registration of 5th Jan 2009's 1st semester is 2 weeks after that date. Funny huh?? But I have to book the hostel faster.

Now... something's been bothering me all along. Lets not talk about guys, shopping, politics and what not. Lets talk about people's EQUAL RIGHTS.

For years, it has been a hot debate on whether or not gays and homosexuals should be granted the equal rights of marriage. First off, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO DECIDE WHATS RIGHT AND WHAT'S NOT???????

i'VE BEEN SO SICK WITH ALL THIS CRAP. WE'RE ALL HUMAN AND ARE BOUND BY NATURE TO MAKE CERTAIN MISTAKES. BUT TO DENY RIGHTS TO PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE THEY DO NOT SHARE OUR PREFERENCE FOR THE OPPOSITE SEX???

THATS JUST FUCKING BULLSHIT!!!!!

NOT ALL OF THE OPPOSITE SEX ARE EVEN UP TO PRODUCT STANDARD, YOU ASS!!! THERE ARE WOMEN WHO ARE IN A MARRIAGE AND CHEAT ON THEIR HUSBANDS AND VICE VERSA!!!

So you decide. I'm asking everyone's opinion now: who do you think DESERVES marriage? Two people of the same sex who love each other OR a man and a woman who cheat and lie in their relationship?

Tokio Hotel's drummer, Gustav Schaefer (the dude on the left) was involved in a car crash... with a tram.

On Tuesday afternoon, Gustav crashed his BMW 3-Series into a tram in Madgeburg, Germany.

Apparently, he "overtook a line of traffic and drove straight over tram tracks which had been blocked off. His car was then hit by an oncoming tram, skidded into the right lane of traffic and hit two further cars."

Schafer and his two passengers had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Thankfully, they only suffered minor injuries.

Gustav is not getting away easy tho. He's going to be charged with bodily harm due to negligence.

Thats why we must always be careful on the road ppl!!!

Don't speed, don't drink and drive under the influence, etc etc!!! Our lives are precious!!

We wish him a speedy recovery... and a better sense of judgement next time.

REALITY SUCKS

Heya guys. Sorry but I have nothing really important to post up here... And Ms Cougar please be patient cos I couldn't find my essay book yet... So your patience is appreciated!!! =)

But I have made a decision which is of monumental importance : I have decided to pursue a British Optician Dispensary program at Axismatics Institute. Its situated in Cheras, so yes Ms Cougar I need your help with directions as well...

Is is my favourite subject to study? NO. Is it something that I could see myself doing for years to come? HELL NO. But in the course of making mature and adult decisions, sacrifices like these are made.

It provides a steady and sometimes lucrative income. Yes, its nearly as lucrative as Daniel's income. =) So my motivation is now monetary. As for my dream of pursuing English Literature, that part has to be put on hold 1st... I promise I'll do it once I'm financially stable, which I hope is very very soon!

Oh what the hell. I hate men in general (mostly Malaysian men cos they're pig-headed and have dicks for brains) but I'll definitely drop this optician course and pursue my Eng Lit if I could marry a millionaire or something....

Now thats something that I'll pop my champagne cork for!!!

Yes, I know what you're all gonna ask me; Why post about Halloween so late, is it even necessary, blah blah blah...

To answer your questions, YES, its very very essential cos this is my first post here and I want to make the subject a special treat for everyone!!! =)

I just love Halloween! You would all think its just about wearing costumes and going Trick 'n' Treating, collecting candy which all of you would most probably be devouring and giving yourselves rotten teeth and diabetes... no?

Well, 1st of all; (almost)everyone of us are under the impression that this is only an American tradition that has existed for hundreds of years with no clear explanation of its origins, hmm??? Actually, if you do make the effort to find out bout world news, Halloween is celebrated everywhere and are called different names.

But they all have the same intention; paying respects to the dearly long departed.

In America, its called Halloween with all its trappings n celebrations.

In Mexico, this day is called Day Of The Dead which focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and relatives who have died.

Over here in Malaysia, where I'm from, we Catholics call it All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day which coincides with the Mexican version.

Scholars trace the origins of the modern holiday to indigenous observances dating back thousands of years, and to an Aztec Festival dedicated to a goddess called Mictecacihuatl (known in English as "The Lady of the Dead").
